October is a month dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary, one of the Church’s most beloved devotions, encouraging Catholics to meditate upon the mysteries of Christ through the eyes of His Blessed Mother.
The rosary is one of the most powerful weapons the Church possesses. We are constantly exhorted by saints, popes, and Our Lord and Our Lady themselves to pray this simple yet profound prayer. Accordingly, Mother Church has set aside a whole month to the promotion of this prayer.
The great Marian feast of Our Lady of the Rosary stands at the heart of October, commemorating the powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and reminding the faithful of the Rosary’s enduring place in Catholic spirituality. October also celebrates the Holy Guardian Angels, the Motherhood of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the traditional calendar, and many saints whose lives radiate holiness, courage, and missionary fervor.
HOW TO LIVE IT
The best way to celebrate the Month of the Holy Rosary is, of course, to pray the rosary daily; but we can also add some of the other prayers below to our daily prayers this month.
Living the year according to these devotions is a beautiful reminder that time belongs to God—and that each month offers a new opportunity to love Jesus more, hand in hand with Mary and the saints.
