The prayers of the Mass focus on the four finalities of the Holy Sacrifice: Adoration, Thanksgiving, Atonement, and Petition. The actions of the clergy and servers, the incense rising to Heaven, and the use of Gregorian chant elevate the soul toward God and the Real Presence. Heaven and Earth meet! Worthy reception of Our Lord Catholics in a state of grace may receive Holy Communion. A 1-hour fast from all food and drink, excluding plain water and medicine, is required.
Morning Prayer 9 AM Mondays and Tuesdays the lay faithful gather to pray the Rosary, Liturgy of the Hours morning prayer, the Perpetual Novena to St Monica and 3 short prayers to St Benedict.
